RED ALERT - WE NEED ALL AMERICANS WHO BELIEVE IN PROTECTING THE ELDERLY, THE DISABLED, CHILDREN AND THE POOR TO SHOW UP AND DEMAND RAUNER TO DEFEND OUR STATE.

Governor Rauner has been silent on AHCA, and this silence speaks volumes. He can not be allowed to get away with sitting on the sidelines while his Republican allies in Congress vote to give him a 6.6. million dollar tax cut at the expense of children, the disabled, middle class families and the elderly.

We will deliver a 5000 signature petition to Governor Rauner during the rally. Sign the petition and share https://actionsprout.io/1D7168

WE NEED EVERYONE TO COME OUT. Rally! Have your voices be heard! We demand that Governor Rauner speak out. We demand that he represent the people of Illinois who will die and lose their jobs without ACA. Join Indivisible Chicago and our allies as we rally outside the Governor’s office and demand that our voices be heard.

An ASL interpreter for the hearing impaired will translate.

The murder of our young Muslim sister Nabra Hassanen has horrified our community. This tragic loss of life comes at a time of increasing acts of violence and hate against Muslims, mosques and other people of faith and houses of worship in the United States and abroad. This terrible act of violence can’t be separated from the current political moment, a moment where Black lives are under increased attack and where bigots like Nabra’s murderer are emboldened by the anti-Black, anti-Arab and anti-Muslim rhetoric.

The national origin and immigration status of the man who killed Nabra does not matter, he acted on vicious anti-Black and anti-Muslim racism that has become normalized today. To add insult to injury, the police of Fairfax county have not yet investigated Nabra’s murder as a hate crime, claiming it instead, as a “road rage” incident. We completely reject this false narrative put forward by the police and demand a full investigation take place treating this as the hate crime that it is.

Join us as we stand in solidarity with Nabra’s family and community against hate and call on Fairfax county officials to investigate her brutal murder as a hate crime.

When Illinois GOP Congressmen Roskam, Hultgren, Kinzinger, Davis, Bost, LaHood and Shimkus cast their votes in favor of #TrumpCare, they voted to take away healthcare from tens of millions; gut protections for preexisting conditions; cut funding $880 billion from #Medicaid for children, the disabled, veterans and the sick to fund a massive tax break for corporations and the rich; and defund Planned Parenthood. Governor Rauner has remained silent in the face of this devastation for Illinois. In doing so, they attacked the very Illinoisans they swore to protect.

Come join us as the massive MOBILE BILLBOARD BUS ends its statewide tour in Chicago. Stand in Solidarity with the millions of Illinoisans who will lose coverage, with 42% of rural children, with the 1 in 2 births covered by Medicaid, with our fellow citizens dependent on Rural Hospitals that will close under the GOP plan. Please bring your stories and raise your voices, letting everyone know - including any present press - how this vote will affect you and your loved ones.

Illinois will never forget this vote— and we will continue to show up to hold them accountable. Our voices will be heard whether they hold town halls or not, and we will remember in 2108. The fight starts in Illinois, right now.

The acquittal of Minnesota police officer Jeronimo Yanez, in the murder of Philando Castile is another act of legalized terrorism in the United States! Such acts of police terror are inexcusable and highlight how the entire system conspires to protect police who kill us and are rarely held accountable. Since the founding of this country, built on indigenous peoples’ genocide, we have dealt with the unchecked violence against Black and brown people: from southern sheriffs and vigilantes to urban cops! No longer can we allow this brutality to go unchecked and violate our human rights everyday in the US and abroad! We have to expose the connections between state violence and painful and deadly street violence fueled by poverty, cycles of trauma and desperation. People cannot call the cops when trouble happens, because cops often make things worse. Remember last Christmas when young Quintonio LeGreir called for help and ended up dead along with Bettie Jones, mother of five, killed by by officer Robert Rialmo. We need other solutions.

This Fathers Day join us in standing up to a system that legalizes our murder by police and perpetuates conditions that result in violence on our streets. This system has produced too much Black death.

March for Philando Castile! Father of one.

March for RonnieMan Johnson! Father of five.

March for all our fathers, mother’s, siblings and children killed by police

March for all this system has failed, abandoned, tortured and killed

June 16 was Soweto Day when youth of South Africa rose up against a racist state. Monday is Juneteenth (June 19) when in 1865 enslaved people in Texas celebrated the end of chattel slavery. And so on June 18, 2025 the struggle continues in Chicago.

Counter-Protest: Chicago Resists Islamophobia & Racism!

Joint statement of People United Against Oppression (A Muslim-led social justice organization) and ANSWER Chicago:

Spread the word now! On June 10, the largest anti-Muslim hate group in the United States, ACT for America, plans to march in Chicago and across the country. In the current climate of rising acts of hate and white supremacy, we must organize, resist and defend. We must come out in the largest numbers possible on June 10 in a powerful counter-protest. Racists and bigots will not be allowed to openly threaten oppressed communities in Chicago or anywhere!

Please also join and share the initial call for this counter-protest here:https://www.facebook.com/events/1089264637885092/

On June 10, we will defend Muslims, immigrants, people of color, women, LGBTQ people and all those under increased attack. Trump’s america will be resisted.

The organizers of the June 10 anti-Muslim protest are vile racists, immigrant bashers and warmongers. They are staunch backers of the brutal and racist Israeli occupation of the Palestinian people. They will not be allowed to occupy one square inch of public space in Chicago without resistance.

Join and help deepen and strengthen the resistance on June 10. Make plans to join this counter-protest and spread the word now. Only the people can shut down racism and hate!

Bring your signs, banners and voices of resistance!

On June 6, disability advocates nationwide are hosting “Don’t Cap Our Care” rallies to speak out against per capita caps to Medicaid services that people with disabilities need. In multiple cities across the US, including Washington DC, we are coming together to talk about how the per capita caps in the American Health Care Act (AHCA) will result in deep cuts to Medicaid that could damage the home and community based services, and other healthcare services, that we rely on to be as independent as possible. Join us to show how important this issue is for thousands in Illinois!

Location: Plaza in front of the Thompson Center, 100 W. Randolph, Chicago Illinois ***location may be subject to change***
