The murder and attempted murder of anti-racist demonstrators in Charlottesville, VA by armed thugs marching under the banners of openly white supremacist anti-Semitic and homophobic organizations is not an isolated incident. This assault was organized by the neo-fascist forces of the United States who are seeking to become the Storm Troopers of the Alt Right and Donald Trump. The fact that the President of the United States could not find the words to condemn these groups and their actions only confirms that he is in on the plan, the leader of the conspiracy.

Their rallying cry is the restoration of tributes to the traitors who attempted to destroy the United States in the name of preserving the enslavement of Black Americans; their objective is the ethnic cleaning of the United States – genocide.

Join the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, Black Lives Matter, and the Arab American Action Network and allies on Tuesday, 8/15 @ 5PM in front of Federal Plaza.

The democratic and progressive forces of this country must unite now in the face of this fascist violence, like never before to rid these United States of the last vestiges of slavery.

NO WHITE SUPREMACIST TERRORISM!
NO RACIST CONSPIRACY AGAINST OUR DEMOCRACY!
NO FASCISM!

In the light of the tragic violence carried out today in Charlottesville, VA by Neo-Nazi white supremacists and a right-wing emboldened by the Trump presidency. One person has been killed and multiple others injured. We must mourn and we also must organize. Come rally to demonstrate that we are united against the racism and bigotry that they represent. We must show that right wing hate, racism, and violence will not be tolerated. Solidarity is needed.

We gather accross from Trump Tower because he his presidency has given confidence to the nazis and white supremicists who marched in the streets of Charlottesville. He too is to blame for this heinous attack upon protestors.

An injury to one is an injury to all.

We are horrified by today’s violent acts in Charlottesville, Virginia. There are no ‘both sides’ here. Our nation’s leadership has intentionally appointed, promoted and empowered people with unabashed white supremacist and neo-Nazi stances.

The groundwork for what we see today has been laid for centuries with the dehumanization of black people, Jewish people, Muslim people, women, LGBTQIA people, indigenous people and all vulnerable people. Today we see this hatred, racism and bigotry rise in boldness because it is being affirmed by our highest office.

Since our founding, the mission of the Women’s March has been uniting women, our families, and our allies across differences, to struggle for an America that represents and protects us all.

We must call these acts what they are: terrorism. Our condolences are with the families of the innocent victims who were injured and killed. With heavy hearts, we raise our fists in the air and pledge to keep building an America where protecting the most marginalized among us is protecting us all.

Women’s March Illinois, Indivisible Illinois, and several other community organizations are coming together, to stand in solidarity with Charlottesville. We are calling on our friends, our community to join us for a vigil to mourn the death of the young woman who lost her life to the car attack at the Charlottesville counter protests today, and the victims who’ve been brutally injured by this attack. We also hope that we can come together as a community to heal, to reaffirm our commitment to protecting each other’s lives, to defending each other’s rights and freedoms, and to continue our struggle for an America that loves and welcomes us all.

We will be adding details of partnering organizations as details are finalized.

Please spread the word and join us! If you or your organization want to partner with us for this vigil, please reach out to us.

STAND AGAINST WHITE SUPREMACIST NAZI TERROR IN CHARLOTTESVILLE! No Trump, No KKK, No Fascist USA!

We gather at 1 pm for a rally at Millennium Park at Randolph & Michigan rally and then march to Trump Tower!

If you are heartbroken and enraged by the horrific fascist attack on righteous protesters in Charlottesville, join us to draw the line and say This Nightmare Must End: The Trump/Pence Regime Must Go!

This afternoon a car ran into a group of the anti-fascist protesters and killed one and injured 7 more. “A hospital official said one person was dead and 19 injured”, the Associated Press reported. This is fascism.

The fact that the racist Fascists felt empowered to plow into a crowd and murder a counter-protestor marks a watershed moment.

This morning David Duke (former head of the KKK) said “today is a turning point in taking our country back and fulfilling the promise of Donald Trump.”

Further - Trump made a shameful fascist statement, saying that the problem was “on many sides,” and called for “law and order.”

This is a program for genocide. For nuclear war. For crushing anyone who would oppose their Fascist agenda.

EVERYONE must come out in the street and say NO! tomorrow or it will get even worse.

And we must come together on Saturday, August 19 for the Midwest Regional Conference. Register here now! https://refusefascism.org/this-fascist-regime-must-be-driven-out-you-are-needed-ways-to-act/regional-meetings-august-19/

Public schools in Illinois need more funding, not less. Public dollars are for the public good.

The IL General Assembly must override Governor Rauner’s veto of SB1. Districts around the state will be damaged by the changes proposed in Rauner’s amendatory veto. And voucher programs can have *no* place in a resolution to the school funding crisis in Illinois.
