We are calling on everyone to come out and protest his appearance at this event.

Mike Pence is one of the most frightening members of this fascist regime. Some have described him as even more reactionary and dangerous than Trump. What makes him particularly menacing is that he manages to fly under the radar receiving very little negative press for positions he supports.

Pence is a Christian fascist who is a significant threat to the LGBTQ+ community, women and minorities. He does not believe in the separation of church and state and has advocated for “religious freedom” at the expense of civil rights.

He has cast six tie breaking votes in the Senate including one that confirmed Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education, and another that would allow states to withhold federal funds for Planned Parenthood and other organizations providing reproductive healthcare.

We need to shine a light on this man and stand up to his radical, inhumane policies.

-Moving through space aware of our rights and avoiding arrest*
*there is no guarantee ever that someone will not be arrested due to the legacy of police brutality in the US
-Centering the most vulnerable and marginalized survivors which include sex workers, trans and non-binary folks, & POC.
-Building community by continuing the tradition of making public space for survivors, and engaging in our annual speak-out after the walk
-Media attention for addressing rape culture

What is the future of a woman’s right to choose? With Justice Anthony Kennedy leaving the Supreme Court, it is beginning to look uncertain if the Trump/Pence regime has its way. We can desperately wait until November for a “Blue Wave” or for Robert Mueller to possibly conclude his investigation. But if a new Supreme Court judge does get chosen by #45, will the Christian fascist dream of reversing Roe vs Wade will become a reality? This is an attack on a woman’s abortion rights that will not be resolved in a voting booth.

“We must do anything and everything to oppose current immigration abusive practices, especially child abuse in family separations. On July 6 we are planning a protest to stop family separation and stop deportations at the Gary-Chicago International Airport.”
