Public schools in Illinois need more funding, not less. Public dollars are for the public good.

The IL General Assembly must override Governor Rauner’s veto of SB1. Districts around the state will be damaged by the changes proposed in Rauner’s amendatory veto. And voucher programs can have *no* place in a resolution to the school funding crisis in Illinois.

Please join The Handmaid’s for a day of SILENT PROTEST on Wednesday, August 9th, Governor Rauner’s office at The Thompson Centre.

We ask that participants come by any time between 7am-3pm to stand in silent solidarity in support of a woman’s right to choose and have access to essential health coverage. We stand in support of HB40.

HB40 is a bill that would protect women’s access to health care in Illinois. Without it abortion in Illinois could become illegal and thousands of women could be without access. The bill has passed the house and senate but Rauner says he may not sign. Tell him this is not an option.

All day August 9th, 7am-3pm will be a day of action outside Rauner’s office at The Thompson Centre in Chicago, will be a day of action. Get informed. Get United. Get empowered.

It’s the 11th hour.

The Senate has voted yes on the motion to proceed. They have declared they are willing to take healthcare away from at least 22 million Americans without even knowing what is in the bill!

We can not allow this action to go unanswered! Join Indivisible Chicago at Federal Plaza at 5pm and raise your voice in protest. We can’t allow this bill to pass.
