The protests, rallies, and collective movement building that we are witnessing across the United States are inspiring. People from different struggles are coming together to disrupt agendas based on racism, bigotry, and Islamophobia and send a definite message that we will be fighting back.
In the midst of all this beautiful resistance, the White House announced that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be coming to DC to meet with Trump on February 15. We can expect that this meeting will result in even more open US support for Israeli policies that deny Palestinian rights, including the building of illegal settlements, and a further cementing of the “shared values” of racism and hate.
We must seize this opportunity to say loud and clear– from US to Palestine:#BuildMovementsNotWalls!
We are marching to:
Stop tearing apart families
Join us to march from Trump Tower to the Consulate General of Israel in Chicago. We will raise our voices loud and clear.
We will start at the Tribune Tower and march until we reach Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, 401 N. WABASH AVENUE.
Buses will leave from Mosque Foundation, OPPC, and ICCI.
Co-sponsored by Chicago JVP.
Supporting Organizations: Resist Trump Tuesdays Chicago
In solidarity with women around the world, #ResistTrumpTuesdays Chicago will lead a powerful direct action and partial strike on March 7th, the eve of the International #WomensStrike in the United States and concurrent with the strike in many countries around the world.
Trump’s misogyny and hateful rhetoric triggered the massive#WomensMarch on January 21st, but the suffering and exploitation of women and working people everywhere long predates his administration. We are coming together to strike, protest, and pressure our elected officials to address the root cause of this suffering: the global corporate forces locking all of us into a race to the bottom in wages and working conditions.
Join us Tuesday, March 7th at 4:30pm for the International #WomensStrike to fight for the global economic justice we’ve always needed!

In Cook County Jail there are thousands of people locked up everyday for non-violent offenses that are taken away from their families, communities, jobs and convicted of being poor before they’ve even been convicted of a crime because they can’t afford their cash bail. That ain’t right! On February 10 we introduced a bail reform legislation with Rep. Christian Mitchell that would end cash bail for non-violent offenses and stop convicting people of being poor.
Donald Trump thinks that the way to solve the violence in Chicago is to send in the National Guard and increase police presence. What our city, state and country needs are more resources – a living wage, affordable housing, healthcare for all and fully funded public education – that is what will lessen crime and violence.
We’re also going to target Judge Evans who has yet to choose a side. We’re going to ask him to choose a side. Are you on the side of Donald Trump or are you on the side of the people?

Three days after Donald Trump issued his Muslim Ban, and one day after a far-right racist in Québec murdered six Muslims in a Quebec City mosque, the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics announced its intention to invite Trump’s former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, “to discuss the rise of Trump, the current President’s management style, and why many Americans found Trump so relatable.”
We invite all of Chicago to take a stand against this normalization of bigotry, please share widely.

CPS has announced a new round of cuts–this time totaling $46M. Instead of taking steps to reallocate TIF funds and implement a LaSalle street tax, CPS has decided to defund our education to remedy their mismanaged budget’s deficit.
The students of Chicago will not stand for another round of racially discriminatory and financially irresponsible budget cuts. Gov. Rauner, Mayor Emmanuel, and CPS CEO Claypool are launching an attack on public education, join us as we fight back!
We are calling for a meeting between student leaders and CPS officials to discuss real, long term solutions to the budget crisis.CPS has announced $46 million in budget cuts. These ten schools are losing 5% of their budgets, the highest amount in this round of cuts. The majority of these schools are top performing, ranked as CPS level one. However, these schools are also predominantly black and brown, low income, and have above average percentages of families with limited English.

In Jun 2015, a group of Mexicans, with the support of other Latinos in Chicago, decided to hold the first protest in the US against the racist and xenophobic insults against Mexicans and Latinos of then just announced candidate Donald Trump during his visit to the City Club of Chicago. (View photo.)
Now we will return to the Trump Tower to express peacefully our repudiation of hate politics and rhetoric that provokes discrimination and crimes against the most vulnerable people. Also, as Mexican men and women, Latinos and Latinas will firmly reject the proposal to build a border wall that will only cause damage and disruption and that will not solve anything.
Come and join us, all are welcome. Say NO to hate, shout NO to the Trump Wall!
On March 15th, each of us will mail Donald Trump a postcard that publicly expresses our opposition to him. And we, in vast numbers, from all corners of the world, will overwhelm the man with his unpopularity and failure. We will show the media and the politicians what standing with him — and against us — means. And most importantly, we will bury the White House post office in pink slips, all informing Donnie that he’s fired.
On March 15th, mail your messages to:
President Donald J. Trump
