The outsized abortion rights victory in Kansas shows that if we mobilize, we win!

The electoral victories in Kansas and in recent special elections show the broad popular support for people to control their own bodies and reproductive decisions. Millions are demanding the freedom to assert our autonomy and build our families free of discrimination, criminalization, and barriers.

Here in Chicago, a broad group of organizations is organizing in solidarity with a National Day of Action to defend – and expand – our access to safe and legal abortion and other reproductive rights.

We dream of a future with protections beyond Roe, in which everyone – no matter who they are, where they are from, or how much money they make – can access free, affirming healthcare within resourced, supportive communities.

Decades of erosion of access to basic healthcare such as abortion care and the overturn of Roe v. Wade, show we cannot depend on politicians and the voting booth alone to preserve and expand our rights.

We must also be in the streets to make sure that politicians and the courts heed our demands, and to build power within our communities. We must take direct action to support people coming to Illinois to exercise their reproductive rights and support their efforts to restore those rights in their home states.

We must recognize that the attack on abortion rights is part of a broader attack on all of our rights – union rights, LGBTQ rights, racial justice, and the rights of working people to do more than fight for scraps and shoddy social services in the world’s wealthiest nation.

Rally to End the Torture at Menard Prison!

August 1, 2022 - 6 PM

Supporting Organizations: Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression

Join us on Monday August 1st at 6 PM to demand an end to the torture at Menard Prison. Our loved ones held at Menard have experienced harassment, mistreatment, neglect, abuse, repression, and, in the case of Michael Jefferson and many more, death at the hands of Menard staff and the Illinois Department of “Corrections” (IDOC). We are calling on IDOC Director Rob Jeffreys and Governor Pritzker to act NOW to address these conditions and bring our loved ones home!

Our demands are:
Transfer Michael Minnifield, Isaiah Brady, and Chaz Thrailkill out of Menard immediately!
Conduct an independent investigation into the conditions at Menard!
Pass the Isolated Confinement Restriction Act HB 3564 NOW!
Hold guards who have abused our loved ones accountable!
Shut Down Menard!

We ask all those who are able to come out and join us as we bring these demands forward in a demonstration. We need every person who can to join us in raising these demands, until Rob Jeffreys and JB Pritzker ACT to address the needs of our loved ones, and until this crisis has the attention it needs!

Having overturned Roe v. Wade by years of packing the Supreme Court, anti-abortion forces now aim to abolish abortion rights in every state.

On July 9th they will bring their crusade to Chicago’s Federal Plaza – they MUST be opposed!

Besides wanting to outlaw abortion nationwide, they are against reproductive rights in general – contraception, quality sex education, accessible childcare, the ability to raise children without crushing economic burdens. It’s no accident that anti-abortion states provide the worst levels of services to young parents and guardians and have the highest maternal mortality rates.

They want to abolish all LGBTQ rights and most stridently oppose the #blacklivesmatter movement and immigrant rights. In short, their anti-abortion agenda has nothing to do with promoting “life.”

Please join a protest AGAINST the anti-abortionists and their crusade to take away our rights!

Join us this Wednesday at 6 PM to demand justice for Jayland Walker, his family and his community.

Akron, Ohio police fired over 90 shots at Jayland Walker during a traffic stop, striking him more than 60 times. Most of these shots came while he was down, and Akron police handcuffed him while he lay lifeless on the ground. The video of this killing was recently released following a week of demonstrations in Akron, Ohio.

We are heeding the call of the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, and joining with chapters across the country to demonstrate demanding justice in the case of this brutal lynching. Come out and join us!

We are demanding:
* Fire and Indict all officers involved in the shooting of Jayland Walker
* The DOJ launch an immediate investigation into the shooting of Jayland Walker
* Community Control of the Police Now!

The whole damn system is guilty as hell! Come out!

Abortion & many more rights under threat.

Resistance & Defiance must be our watchwords now. A politically biased court, stacked with ideologues, is trying to get us to buy the myth that they’re “above politics,” and soberly following the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Nothing is further from the truth.

“Justice” Thomas let slip the right wing’s real agenda by saying that LGBTQ rights and access to contraceptives are now on their chopping  block  too.

Today’s Supreme Court’s decision is extremely damaging, but far from the last word on the matter. Awful court decisions have been openly and covertly resisted in the past, eventually changing history.

Join us in the fight for safe, legal abortion, full bodily autonomy & other civil rights.

Just as we seemed to be nearing the end of “uncertain times”, due in large to the Covid 19 pandemic, latent threats re-emerged.

Abortion rights, Gun control, Racial Injustice, Police Violence, Trans Rights and protections all are under attack, just to name a few.

It is only through community that we will overcome these threats to our personal safety and happiness.

This year the Drag March For Change has partnered with Pride without Prejudice to join voices in protest.

This year’s march is a call to action that centers black trans voices, serves as a moment of reflection and as way for the community to move forward in solidarity.

So please answer the call and join us at 1pm on June 12, 2022 at the Belmont redline station for the Chicago Reclaim Pride March!

The official Chicago Pride parade still exists as a for profit entity and though it may claim to celebrate the LGBTQIA2+ community it appears to more so celebrate the American dollar. Through BIPOC leadership molding this event, highlighting the current issues under attack of Trans rights, women’s personal autonomy (abortion rights) , gun control, and police violence they aim to help bring an end to these never ending attacks that hinder our personal pursuit of happiness. This direct action paired with productive programming seeks to act as a summit of solidarity for every color of the LGBTQIA2+ rainbow, mirroring ourselves and the world around us to provide a focus for the future.

*Speakers List and March Route will be released.
To volunteer:

List of Demands:

That the Chicago Pride Parade become a non-profit entity equipped with a diverse board that can serve to
guide and protect the true soul of Pride.

That violence against Trans persons becomes classified as hate crime on both a State and Federal level.

That women’s and gender non-conforming people’s right to choose abortion be protected in perpetuity.

That stricter restrictions be immediately implemented for gun control nationally.

That the Chicago City Council defund CPD by 75% and reinvest those funds into social services and community programs.

Justice* for all victims of police violence
*Justice being the abolishment of the system that took these lives and that restorative systems grow in their stead.
