Mike Pence is speaking at the Hyatt Regency in Rosemont Friday night at a conference of reactionary students (Turning Point USA), and Trump spoke in Grand Rapids, his first Nuremburg rally since the Mueller report was released. They are going full throttle on the offensive, demanding investigations of their critics, calling for resignations, and blacklisting by the media. All this while concentration camps are set up in public view under bridges in Texas, public opinion is being mobilized to take military action against Venezuela, and women’s rights to abortion and birth control are hanging by a thread. And they are rousing their base to press forward with their fascist agenda.

Turning Point is a reactionary “student” organization that has been organizing on campuses around the fascist agenda including “free speech” for fascists, which means shutting down anything progressive.

Join us in delivering message to Trump, Pence and Turning Point AND to all the people who hate what this regime is doing but have diverted, bamboozled, and stupefied people into waiting passively… Now Is the Time to Act!

The Trump/Pence Regime Is More Dangerous Than Ever. It Must Be Driven From Power By Sustained Mass Protest By the People.

Attorney General William Barr has until Tuesday, April 2, to send the full Mueller Report to Congress. That’s the deadline set this week by six House committee chairpersons, after which they will consider Barr to be noncompliant and will put the pressure of the law on him with a subpoena to #MakeItPublic. We will know by the following morning, Wednesday, whether he has met that deadline or is refusing to make it public.

If Barr misses the deadline to make the Mueller report public, shielding the Trump administration from public accountability, we will likely activate the Nobody Is Above the Law rapid-response network on Wednesday morning, calling for a national day of action the following day, THURSDAY, APRIL 4, at 5 p.m. local time.

This is it y’all. This Wednesday, City Council will take the final votes to finalize approval and allow for construction to begin. We’re fighting to the end, and we are beyond proud of what we’ve built and won so far. It’s been almost 18 months and we’ve done so much, from stickers to sit-ins to mayoral endorsements. Still, City Council ignores our popular, city-wide demand for #NoCopAcademy. So let’s make sure they can’t ignore us and show up loud and clear.

🕘PRESS CONFERENCE: 9 am: https://www.facebook.com/events/1533533873444013/
🕘RALLY: 9 am – 2 pm
🕙CITY COUNCIL MEETING: 10 am

There are other major projects Rahm is pushing through City Council on Wednesday as well, so we will be there in solidarity with our friends from #HelloNoHilco & Little Village Environmental Justice Organization (LVEJO) resisting the HilCo development poised for final approval, and others who have been working to #DelayTheTIF and stop the Lincoln Yards mega-development. Rahm is proving his commitment to corruption and racist displacement in his final days in City Hall.

Join us and Rally for the Chicago Office of Gun Violence Prevention on Friday, March 1, 2019 at City Hall from 2-3:30 PM.

We are working with Live Free Chicago during our Annual Human Rights Conference, where together we will demand for an office to save lives!

Rally and speakers will be asking City Council to step up and support the Chicago Office of Gun Violence Prevention to care for our communities and invest in saving lives by:
1. Creating an Office of Gun Violence Prevention (OGVP) using a public health approach
2. Allocating 50 million dollars to adequately staff the OGVP and provide resources to community-based organizations
3. Supporting a community-led process for the creation of a city-wide strategy to end gun violence.

This rally is our time to unite around the issues, and get ready to fight for the office this year.
