After having our democratic rights trampled by obstruction in the Public Safety committee, the fight for community control and civilian oversight continues on. We will not allow a handful of white alder people on the northside to stand in the way of Black and brown liberation! We will continue to fight for ECPS AND the referendum to end CPD terror and impunity. Debra Silverstein, Tom Tunney, Samantha Nugent, and Michele Smith chose their position in history. Alongside the Mayor, they chose to stand against the people demanding our democratic right to determine who polices our communities and how our communities are policed. We need EVERYONE to join us this coming Wednesday at City Hall. This fight is far from over, and we need these alders to know: we see your obstruction, your weak attempt to halt and reverse the motion of progress, but Chicago is ready to move forward, with or without you.
