Migrant children are still being detained in Chicago instead of being liberated into the care of their loved ones. The child detention business is once again booming. Biden, unlike Trump, is no longer focused on summarily deporting migrant children — but this does not mean the children are able to reunite with loved ones. Instead, they are taken to detention facilities officially called “shelters”, where their cases drag on for months while their families are investigated.
