Almost a million Chicagoans are unemployed today. The U.S. ruling class is refusing to take any meaningful steps to provide medical, economic, or housing relief during a deadly pandemic. Our elected officials insist on spending billions of dollars on policing and the military while killing Black, Brown and Indigenous people both in the U.S. and abroad. It’s self evident that we live in a society that values profit and property over life, and we’re fed up. Join us this October 3rd for Unemployment Day. Rally in Union park at 1pm to gather with community organizations and mutual aid projects to demand that our city, state, and federal budgets belong to us, the people. We demand a radical shift in priorities that provides a genuine safety net for all those impacted by the multiple crises our country faces.
