What is CPAC? CPAC, or the Civilian Police Accountability Council, is the only existing ordinance in city council that will grant full community control over the Chicago Police Department. The democratically-elected council will hold powers such as: hiring/firing the police superintendent, setting CPD policy, setting CPD budget, hiring the head of COPA (the office that currently handles police misconduct suits), monitoring COPA investigations, and more! CPAC will allow neighborhoods to decide what policing looks like for them and actually has powers, not just the ability to make recommendations that go unheard.

Contact your alderman and tell them to support CPAC! If your alderman already supports CPAC, tell them to stick to ONLY CPAC.
