CPD OUT OF CPS RALLY & MARCH #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd

Minneapolis has canceled their long-standing contract with MPD to police their schools. Following along was University of Minnesota and others.

WE are demanding that Chicago follow course. CPS is giving CPD 33 million dollars a year to police schools all while schools in urban neighborhoods lack counselors and clinical staff members. The 33 million can go towards other things,

DEMANDS:

– Cancel CPD contract and spend funds on mandatory trained / specialized therapists with correct ratio matching student capacity.

– Double down on funds for art based extracurricular activities

– Mandatory education of American history of race and schools taught by black educators

– Restorative practices for behavior, no exclusionary discipline

– Community garden / service opportunities
