Show support for Gerald and his family!

In 1990, Gerald Reed was arrested and taken to Area 3 by Detectives Breska and Kill. There, he was beaten so severely that his femur was fractured and a metal rod in his leg was snapped. When the beating continued after this, it caused extreme pain. This is how Gerald Reed was forced into signing a confession, written by the cops, to a double murder that he did not commit.

Gerald Reed went to court and was sentenced to life in prison. There was no substantial evidence against him except for the false confession obtained through torture.

In 2011, the Torture Inquiry and Relief Commission (TIRC) found Gerald Reed to have a credible case of torture. In December 2018, Judge Gainer overturned Gerald’s conviction. This means that Reed is legally innocent. However, a year later, Gerald Reed remains in jail as the result of slow walking from his new judge, Hennelly, and special prosecutor Milan.

Judge Hennelly just asked the prosecution and defense to present their case as to why or why not Gerald Reed’s confession should be used going forward. A confession that was already thrown out by another judge. A confession clearly obtained through torture, according Judge Horrible Hennelly is clearly up to no good!
Due to the police torture, Reed cannot walk and is in a wheel chair. He had to wait until 2016 — 26 years from the day his femur was broken — before he finally received the first stage of surgery needed to repair the damage. Many other serious health issues have developed. Gerald has already had a heart attack and has fallen unconscious multiple times. Gerald Reed should be free, his life is in danger!

Show Judge #HorribleHennelly that the people are watching! Show up to our rally in front of the courthouse this Friday. Bring signs, shirts, anything you have to show your support. Don’t forget your weather-appropriate clothing while we’re outside.
