Over 20,000 private university graduate workers have joined unions since the 2016 Columbia decision granted them worker status and the right to organize. These workers have won higher wages, lower fees, benefits for parents and, most importantly, real decision making power over the policies that impact their work and lives.
In an attempt to stifle the incredible momentum of this movement, the Trump appointed National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has proposed a rule which would reverse the Columbia decision in order to strip away graduate workers’ victories, and deny them their rights.
Join graduate workers and allies from across the Chicagoland area as we converge on the local NLRB office to tell them that #WeAreWorkers and demand respect for grad labor!
