This Monday, join us to take action against the deportation machine in Chicago. ICE and its enablers are committing atrocities across the country, including our own backyard. Every single person who does not fight to end these atrocities must be held accountable.

At 4:00, we will meet at Congress Plaza to gather before we begin our action.

As Jews, we have grown up with the phrase Never Again seared into our memories. We have been taught to never let anything like the Holocaust happen again. From our many Jewish histories of detention, violence, and migration all over the world, we know that we’ve seen this before. But the legacies of violence, white supremacy, detention and genocide are alive and well in our communities.

Now, as we see widespread separation of families, detention of children in horrific conditions, and adults and children dying at the border as they attempt to leave violence and instability created largely by our own country’s foreign policies, we refuse to wait to see what happens next.

When we say never again, we mean it.

We know that the current crisis is nothing new in this country. And we know that the crisis is not contained to the border; it is happening in communities across the country as our neighbors are terrorized by ICE raids and by increasingly violent rhetoric from the mouths of this country’s leaders. Until our politicians take drastic action to shut down ICE and create safe conditions for people seeking safety, we must make it impossible for ICE to do business as usual.

#NeverAgainMeans never again.
#NeverAgainMeans abolish ICE.
#NeverAgainMeans close the camps.
#NeverAgainMeans never again for anyone.
