Join National Nurses United (NNU), Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP), Illinois Single Payer Coalition, Sen. Nina Turner and others for a #MedicareForAll day of action on Saturday, June 8th in downtown Chicago!
The first rally of the day will take place at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Building (300 E. Randolph Street) at 1:30pm. Then we will march over to the Hyatt Regency (151 E. Wacker Drive), where a second rally will take place at approximately 2:30pm. Somewhere along the way will be a die-in (location TBA). The American Medical Association (AMA) House of Delegates will convene at the Hyatt Regency Chicago June 8-12. The AMA opposes national improved #MedicareForAll and has joined with health insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies to undermine the M4A movement, even though more than half of physicians support it.
Local speakers will include:
-Claudia Fegan, MD; PNHP
-Antonio Sanders; deaf activist, advocate, educator and mentor
**As of Tuesday, June 4th, we have been informed by his campaign staff that Sen. Sanders has a scheduling conflict that afternoon in Iowa. Will share any relevant updates on this event page if anything changes.**
Jane Addams Senior Caucus will provide a bus for people who can’t walk or roll between the two rally locations. The event will take place out of doors.
Nearby bathrooms, including accessible bathrooms: Millennium Station, 151 N. Michigan Avenue; Millennium Park.
We hope to see you there!
