Unity in Community Northwest Invites You To…
Families Showing Up Against Racism and For Racial Diversity Neighborhood Parades

Join your neighbors on Saturday, August 19 at 3 PM (Edgebrook) and at 4:30 PM (Sauganash) for our first two Families Showing Up Against Racism and For Racial Diversity Neighborhood Parades. The parades are family friendly and for all ages – kids, teens, young adults and seniors alike. NOTE: please see the event posting on Facebook to view route maps!!!

We’ll meet at 3 PM in Edgebrook at Peterson and the Billy Caldwell Golf Course. We’ll parade through Edgebrook to downtown at Central and Devon. There, together we’ll take the YWCA Anti-Racism Pledge to make a public verbal and written commitment to show up each and every day against racism and support racial diversity in our neighborhoods, home, work and school.

Then, on the same day, we’ll meet at 4:30 PM at the Sauganash mural (4300 W. Peterson) and parade through Sauganash to downtown at Peterson and Cicero. Once again, we’ll take the YWCA Anti-Racism Pledge to make a public verbal and written commitment to show up each and every day against racism and support racial diversity in our neighborhoods, home, work and school.
.
Join us for one, both or part of these first two Unity in Community neighborhood parades.(We’ll publish the actual route soon.) Walk. Bike. Skateboard. Make your own signs. Bring an instrument. Sing a song. Bring your flag. We’ll parade together and let everybody know publicly that our neighborhood loudly and proudly show up against racism and for racial diversity.
